What year did your business start?
We opened our doors for business in 2001.
Where are you located?
Our home office is located in Altamont and we have customers in the entire greater capital district.

How and why did you get into the business?
I started the company by myself in Denver, Colorado in early 2000. I’ve been doing fine carpentry and building since I was a kid. My dad and several teachers taught me a lot in the beginning and then I spent many years teaching myself new and different things. Family brought us to Altamont in 2008 which is where my wife was raised.
Are you known for anything special?
We don’t specialize in any one type of work. We focus on everything residential and enjoy the challenge of updating a home, a new addition or general remodeling project that fits with the character of the home.
What do you love most about the business?
I truly love working with people. Creating a new look, adding space or updating a space and then watching the customer’s reaction is a great feeling.
What do you think is your biggest challenge with the business?
The biggest challenge I find today is keeping up with all the new and different material choices, gadgets and technology. Customers have big wish lists and we do everything we can to help educate the customer and ourselves to make their dreams come true.
How far ahead should I plan my project?
Even the smallest projects require planning. A good rule of thumb is to start planning when you first begin thinking about a project. Keep pictures from magazines, write down websites, visit showrooms and prepare to be overwhelmed with all the choices. The good thing is that anything is possible.
What was your favorite project and why?
I don’t think I have one favorite project. We really enjoy projects in general where we have to be really creative in our design/build, get to use new and different materials/products and can make a new space or remodel look as though it was always that way.
